Step 1
How to easily and quickly make a juicy casserole in a cottage cheese and cheese sauce with sour cream? Start by preparing all the necessary ingredients, spices, and herbs for this simple summer oven dish.
Step 2
To prepare the sauce, take a deep bowl and add 250 g (about 9 oz) of cottage cheese, a pinch of oregano and salt to taste, then 100 g (about 3.5 oz) of sour cream.
Step 3
Add 4 garlic cloves pressed through a garlic press, then crack in 2 chicken eggs.
Step 4
Blend all ingredients until smooth using a hand blender. Add a mix of black and red ground pepper to taste.
Step 5
Add half of the 100 g (3.5 oz) of finely grated cheese to the mixture.
Step 6
Stir well until you get a uniform, creamy sauce - the filling is ready.
Step 7
Slice 3 young zucchinis into thin half-rings. Lightly grease a baking dish with vegetable oil and place one even layer of zucchini at the bottom.
Step 8
Spread 4 tablespoons of the sauce evenly over the zucchini.
Step 9
Add two more alternating layers of zucchini and sauce, then place the dish in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 35-40 minutes.
Step 10
Five minutes before it’s done, remove the dish from the oven.
Step 11
Sprinkle the casserole with finely chopped herbs mixed with the remaining grated cheese, then return it to the oven for another 5 minutes.
Step 12
Cut the baked casserole into portions, place on plates, and serve warm.
