Advice
For this recipe, it’s best to use fresh meat rather than frozen, as freezing can make the cooked meat dry. Since saltiness, sweetness, bitterness, spiciness, acidity, and heat are perceived differently by everyone, always adjust seasonings and spices to your taste! If you’re using a new spice for the first time, be cautious—some, like chili pepper, should not be overused.
Preparation
Step 1
Prepare all the necessary ingredients. You can slightly adjust the ratio of carrots and onions or add other vegetables.
Step 2
Rinse the wild boar ribs under running water and pat them dry with paper towels. Then, cut them into portion-sized pieces, either individually or in pairs.
Step 3
Peel the onion and carrot and rinse them. Slice the onion into half-rings and cut the carrot into large pieces.
Step 4
Place the ribs in a bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Add some BBQ sauce, sprinkle with salt and spices of your choice (I use ground pepper and aromatic herbs). Mix everything thoroughly.
Step 5
Lay the sliced vegetables (onions and carrots) in a baking dish.
Step 6
Arrange the seasoned ribs on top of the vegetables.
Step 7
Pour light beer over everything.
Step 8
Cover the dish with foil and place it in a preheated oven at 200°C (390°F) for about 45-60 minutes. The time may vary depending on your oven, so check accordingly.
Step 9
Remove the foil, brush the ribs with the remaining BBQ sauce, and return them to the oven uncovered for another 15-20 minutes. This will give the ribs a beautiful golden-brown crust.
Step 10
Your juicy and delicious wild boar ribs are ready! Take them out of the oven, transfer to a plate, and serve. Enjoy your meal!
