Preparation
Step 1
For turkey fillet you can use breast or, as I did, thigh fillet. In my opinion, breast turns out a bit dry, so I usually choose thigh. If desired, olive oil can be replaced with neutral vegetable oil.
Step 2
Rinse the turkey fillet under running water and pat dry with paper towels. Then cut the meat into small pieces.
Step 3
Peel the onion, rinse, and chop finely.
Step 4
Heat a skillet over high heat and add olive oil. Place the turkey pieces in and fry for a couple of minutes on all sides over high heat. Do not cover with a lid, otherwise the meat will stew instead of fry. This way a nice golden crust will form. Then reduce the heat.
Step 5
Add the chopped onion to the skillet. Season with salt and spices to taste. Press a couple of garlic cloves through a garlic press. I like to add paprika and a mix of ground peppers. Stir everything and continue frying over low heat for another 5-6 minutes. During this time the onion will soften and the meat will absorb the spice aroma.
Step 6
The skillet-fried turkey is ready! It pairs well with any side dish. Arrange the meat on plates and serve hot. Enjoy!
