Easy
About 20 min.
Preparation
Step 1
You can use sour cream of any fat content. I used 15% sour cream. Tomato paste can be replaced with ketchup.
Step 2
Peel the onion and rinse it under cold water. Then finely chop the peeled onion.
Step 3
Heat a skillet until hot and pour in a little vegetable oil. Add the chopped onion and sauté for a couple of minutes on low heat until it becomes translucent.
Step 4
Sprinkle the onion with flour and stir thoroughly so that there are no flour lumps.
Step 5
In a separate glass, mix filtered water with tomato paste and sour cream. Do not use tap water as it may ruin the taste. Adjust the water amount depending on the desired sauce thickness.
Step 6
Pour the resulting sauce into the pan with the onion. Stir everything together and bring to a boil. As it heats, the sauce will thicken. Add salt and spices to taste. Use any spices you like - I added a bit of ground pepper and paprika.
Step 7
The sauce with tomato paste and sour cream is ready! You can serve it with rice or pasta. It also works great for simmering patties, meatballs, or cutlets.
Step 8
Pour the finished sauce over your chosen dish and serve. Enjoy!
