Easy
About 20 min.
Preparation
Step 1
Which minced meat to use? Any kind will do: chicken, pork, beef, or mixed. Instead of tomato paste, you may use fresh tomatoes, or both.
Step 2
Peel onion, carrot, and garlic (if using). Rinse and pat dry. Dice the onion and garlic into small cubes, cut the carrot into thin strips.
Step 3
Pour vegetable oil into the multicooker bowl, set it to "Bake" or "Fry" mode. Add onion, carrot, and garlic, and fry while stirring for about 5 minutes. Add tomato paste (or fresh tomatoes at this stage). Mix well and cook for another 5-7 minutes.
Step 4
Add the minced meat to the tomato-vegetable mixture. Mix thoroughly, salt to taste, and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
Step 5
Stir occasionally with a spatula to prevent burning.
Step 6
Rinse the rice several times until the water runs clear. Spread the rice evenly over the minced meat in the multicooker bowl. Add your favorite spices such as khmeli-suneli, paprika, ground peppers, etc.
Step 7
Pour in water. Ratio: 1 part rice to 2 parts water. For example, for 1.5 cups of rice, add 3 cups of water (about 24 fl oz).
Step 8
Close the multicooker, set it to "Pilaf" mode, and cook until the beep signal. The cooking time will be set automatically depending on the model.
Step 9
Mix the finished dish, garnish with fresh herbs, and serve.
