Easy
About 20 min.
Preparation
Step 1
Choose boneless pork - ham or loin works best. Select a cheese that melts well in the oven.
Step 2
Cut the pork into serving-sized slices about 0.4-0.6 inches (1-1.5 cm) thick. Gently pound each piece with a meat mallet. To prevent tearing and splattering, cover the meat with plastic wrap before pounding.
Step 3
Use any ovenproof baking dish (ceramic, glass, or metal). Grease it lightly with vegetable oil and arrange the pounded pork slices inside. You can tuck the edges slightly to fit evenly. Sprinkle with salt and spices, keeping in mind that mayonnaise is already salty.
Step 4
Generously spread mayonnaise over each piece of pork.
Step 5
Peel the onion, rinse it with cold water, and slice thinly. Spread the onion slices evenly over the pork.
Step 6
Grate the cheese on a coarse grater.
Step 7
Sprinkle the pork generously with grated cheese. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 30-40 minutes, adjusting based on your oven.
Step 8
The cheese will melt completely and turn golden while the meat releases some juice. Remove the dish from the oven, serve hot, and enjoy your flavorful meal!
