Easy
More than 1 hour.
Preparation
Step 1
Take pork meat, wash it, then pat dry with paper towels. Cut the meat into large pieces.
Step 2
Place the pork pieces into a deep bowl. Add shashlik spices (or any spices you prefer) and mix. Peel the onions, slice into half rings, and add to the meat. Sprinkle with a little salt and season with dry adjika.
Step 3
Knead the onions well with your hands until they release juice. This will soften the onions and make the pork juicier, more tender, and aromatic. Mix everything again.
Step 4
Add tomato paste and a little vegetable oil. Mix thoroughly once more, then cover the bowl with a lid or plastic wrap and place in a cool spot or refrigerator for at least 2 hours, preferably 3.
Step 5
When the meat is marinated, remove from the fridge. Place foil on your working surface and put the marinated pork in the center. Optionally sprinkle with a few drops of liquid smoke. Fold the edges of the foil over the meat.
Step 6
Place the foil-wrapped meat in a baking dish. Bake in the oven at 200°C (390°F) for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, lower the temperature to 180°C (355°F), remove the dish, carefully open the foil, and return the meat uncovered to the oven. Bake for another 30 minutes until the pork is browned. At the end, salt slightly again and stir.
Step 7
Serve the shashlik hot, straight from the oven. Enjoy!
