Preparation
Step 1
You can use any boneless part of pork, but pork loin works best. Choose any cheese you like - it will define the flavor of the dish.
Step 2
Slice the meat into portion-sized pieces and pound it on both sides with a kitchen mallet. Sprinkle with salt and spices. When adding salt, remember that mayonnaise adds extra saltiness - depending on the type, you might not need to add any more.
Step 3
In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise with mustard and minced garlic. Spread this sauce in a thin layer over the meat.
Step 4
Cut the cheese into sticks, place one on the edge of each piece of meat, and roll it up. Form all the meat rolls this way. If your slices are small, secure the rolls with toothpicks. If they’re tight enough, toothpicks may not be necessary.
Step 5
For frying, use a wide skillet. Heat it until hot, pour in some vegetable oil, and place the pork rolls seam-side down. Fry until golden on all sides.
Step 6
Turn the rolls occasionally for even browning. Then add a bit of hot water to the skillet and cover. Simmer for 15-20 minutes.
Step 7
During simmering, the cheese will melt - some will leak into the skillet, forming a rich sauce. The rolls will absorb its flavor and aroma. Transfer the ready pork rolls to a plate and serve hot. Enjoy your meal!
