Preparation
Step 1
How to cook pink salmon in a grill pan? Prepare the ingredients. You can use fish fillet, steaks, or a whole fish. The fish can be split lengthwise into 2 halves or cut into steaks 2–3 cm (about 3/4–1 1/4 in) thick. It’s easiest to cut fish while it’s still slightly frozen, then let it fully thaw after cutting. For seasoning, I use Herbes de Provence.
Step 2
Rinse the fish under running water and pat dry with paper towels. I decided to cut the fish into portion steaks. Lightly drizzle each piece with lemon juice - this helps reduce a strong fishy smell.
Step 3
Sprinkle both sides with a little salt and seasoning. Let it sit for about 15 minutes to marinate slightly.
Step 4
Before frying, brush the fish lightly with olive oil on both sides. It’s convenient to use a silicone brush.
Step 5
Place the grill pan over heat and preheat until very hot. Using the same brush, lightly oil the pan. Lay the prepared fish steaks on the hot pan and cook 2-3 minutes per side.
Step 6
If the fish still doesn’t release from the pan, it’s not ready yet - wait a little longer. Properly cooked fish lifts easily from the pan.
Step 7
Serve the fish immediately while hot - grill-pan pink salmon is delicious! Add herbs, fresh vegetables, or baked potatoes. Enjoy!
