Preparation
Step 1
How to fry pork in a skillet with onions? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. You can use any cut of pork: neck, shoulder, ham, or belly. I’m using pork ham.
Step 2
Rinse the meat under running water and pat dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Cut into small, evenly sized pieces.
Step 3
Use a convenient skillet with a flat bottom. Heat it until hot and add a little vegetable oil. Add the pork and sear over high heat on all sides. This quick searing forms a crust and seals the juices inside.
Step 4
As you fry, the meat will release liquid, but it will evaporate right away. Lower the heat a bit. Cook over low heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 5
While the meat cooks, prep the onion. Peel it, rinse in cold water, and slice into half-rings. Don’t cut too finely, or it will turn mushy when fried.
Step 6
The meat should be well browned and an appetizing golden color.
Step 7
Add the sliced onion to the pan with the meat. Stir.
Step 8
After a couple of minutes the onion will soften. Add a little salt and spices to taste. Continue frying everything together over low heat for another 10-15 minutes.
Step 9
The fried pork with onions is ready! Serve hot. Add any side dish you like.
Step 10
Enjoy your meal!
