Easy
About 20 min.
Preparation
Step 1
You can use any parts of the chicken for frying, or, like me, take a whole chicken. Use any spices you like and have on hand - I use ground black pepper and chicken seasoning.
Step 2
Rinse the chicken under running water and pat it dry with paper towels. If excess water remains, it will cause oil splatters during frying - and we don’t want that! Chop the chicken into serving pieces.
Step 3
Use a wide skillet so the chicken can be placed in a single layer. Heat the skillet until hot, then add a little vegetable oil. Place the prepared chicken pieces in the skillet. Fry over high heat for 3-4 minutes on each side.
Step 4
On high heat, the chicken will immediately start browning and developing a crust. Now cover the skillet with a lid, slightly reduce the heat, and continue cooking for about 20 minutes. Turn the chicken occasionally for even cooking inside. If the heat is too low, the chicken will soften but won’t develop a nice crispy crust.
Step 5
At the end of cooking, sprinkle the chicken with salt and spices.
Step 6
Add a couple of cloves of chopped garlic. Heat the chicken with the garlic uncovered for another 2 minutes. This will be enough for the garlic to infuse the chicken with its aroma. Pan-fried chicken with garlic is ready! Serve hot, arranged on plates. You can pair it with any sauce you like. Enjoy!
