A tasty and hearty dish for an everyday lunch or dinner. If you really love cutlets but are tired of the usual version, try making them in a new way. I suggest cooking the cutlets in the oven.

Preparation
Step 1
How do you make oven-baked cutlets with tomato and cheese? Prepare everything you need. You can use minced meat from any type of meat or make a mixed meat blend. To be sure of the quality, I recommend making the minced meat yourself at home. Wash the tomatoes. Peel the onion and rinse it in cool water. You can use any kind of cheese, but the main thing is that it should grate easily.
Step 2
To prepare the cutlet mixture, take a large bowl so it is convenient to mix everything. The bowl can be plastic or glass. Cut the peeled onion into 3-4 pieces, run it through a meat grinder, and add it to the minced meat. If you are using ready-made minced meat and do not want to take out the meat grinder, you can finely chop the onion or grate it.
Step 3
Then add the egg, salt, and spices to the minced meat. As spices, you can use ground pepper and dried herbs such as dill, parsley, or basil. Then add the mayonnaise, leaving a little for brushing the cutlets.
Step 4
Mix the whole cutlet mixture well until smooth so that all the ingredients are evenly combined. Then lift the minced meat with your hands and throw it back into the bowl several times. Why is this necessary? It helps make the mixture denser so that the cutlets do not fall apart during baking.
Step 5
Prepare a baking dish. Line the bottom with baking paper, a nonstick baking sheet, or foil. It is better to use paper with a silicone coating, or grease regular baking paper with vegetable oil so the cutlets do not burn. Shape the cutlet mixture into small cutlets with your hands and press them slightly so they become flatter. Place them into the prepared dish.
Step 6
Brush the top of each cutlet with a little mayonnaise. This is necessary for the juiciness of the finished dish. Cut the tomatoes into slices and place them on top of each cutlet.
Step 7
Then generously sprinkle with grated cheese. Put the dish with the cutlets into an oven preheated to 190°C (375°F) for 30 minutes. Use your oven as the guide.
Step 8
During baking, the meat will release juice, but it will evaporate in the oven. The cheese will melt from the high heat and brown slightly. The finished cutlets will become an appetizing golden color.
Step 9
Serve these cutlets as a hot main dish on their own. Enjoy your meal!
