About 20 min.
Preparation
Step 1
You can use any type of meat for this dish. I’m using pork. Choose boneless meat. A little fat is fine - it will make the meat juicier during frying.
Step 2
Peel the onion and rinse it under cold water. Then chop the onion. It doesn’t need to be very finely chopped.
Step 3
Grate the pickled cucumbers on a coarse grater.
Step 4
Cut the meat into thin strips. Heat a frying pan until hot and add a bit of vegetable oil. Place the sliced meat in the pan. Fry it for a few minutes. At first, the meat will release juice, which will gradually evaporate. Then the meat will start to brown. Sprinkle the meat with salt and spices. Keep in mind that you’ll be adding pickled cucumbers, so don’t oversalt!
Step 5
Once the meat is browned, add the chopped onion to the pan. Stir and sauté everything together for another 3-5 minutes over low heat. During this time, the onion will soften.
Step 6
Add the grated pickled cucumbers to the pan. Mix everything well.
Step 7
Add sour cream. If it’s too thick, you can thin it with a bit of water. Stir the meat with the sour cream. Simmer the dish for another 5-7 minutes and then remove the pan from the heat.
Step 8
The stewed meat with pickled cucumbers is ready! You can serve it with any side dish or fresh vegetables. Enjoy your meal!
