Easy
About 30 min.
Preparation
Step 1
You can use any kind of ground meat or a mix. Peel the potatoes and rinse. Boil the eggs for 7-8 minutes. Drain hot water and cool the eggs in cold water.
Step 2
Peel and finely chop the onion. Heat a skillet with some vegetable oil and sauté the onion for 3-4 minutes on low until translucent. Remove from heat.
Step 3
Peel the boiled eggs, mash with a fork, and mix with mayonnaise.
Step 4
Season the ground meat with salt and spices. Mix well and beat lightly against the bowl to make it denser so it won’t fall apart while baking.
Step 5
Use any ovenproof baking dish. Grease it with oil. Shape small meat patties and place them in the dish. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty.
Step 6
Add some fried onion, then the egg filling. Press firmly.
Step 7
Grate the peeled potatoes on a coarse grater and spread over each patty.
Step 8
Generously sprinkle each stack with grated cheese. Bake at 180°C / 355°F for about 30-40 minutes, depending on your oven.
Step 9
During baking, the patties will shrink slightly and brown on top. Remove from the oven, place on a plate, and serve hot. Enjoy!
