Easy
About 30 min.
Preparation
Step 1
You can use any type of minced meat for the nests, or a mix of several. I’ll use pork mince. For the mushroom filling, I have forest mushrooms that were boiled and frozen. If needed, just defrost them. Choose any cheese to your taste.
Step 2
Peel and finely chop the onion. Chop the mushrooms into small pieces. Heat a skillet with a little vegetable oil and fry the mushrooms with onion for a few minutes. The onion will soften, liquid will evaporate from the mushrooms, and they’ll start browning slightly. Add a bit of salt to the mushrooms.
Step 3
Mix the minced meat with salt and spices, then beat it against the bowl’s bottom to make it denser.
Step 4
Shape small balls from the prepared mince. Press them into flat patties and make a small indentation in the center, like a nest.
Step 5
Place a little grated cheese in the center of each nest.
Step 6
Then fill the nests with the mushroom mixture, pressing it in tightly.
Step 7
Spread mayonnaise on top of the nests and place them in the oven preheated to 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes. You may use homemade mayonnaise.
Step 8
After that time, take the tray out. Put sliced tomatoes on each nest and generously sprinkle with grated cheese. Return to the oven for another 10-15 minutes. The time may vary depending on your oven.
Step 9
During this time, the tomatoes will bake slightly and soften, while the cheese will melt completely. Remove the tray from the oven, transfer the nests to a plate, and serve hot. Enjoy!
