Preparation
Step 1
You can use any meat. I will cook it with beef. Choose young meat - it cooks faster.
Step 2
Rinse the meat under running water and pat dry. Trim any membranes and tendons. Cut the meat into small pieces.
Step 3
Peel the onion, rinse it, and chop finely.
Step 4
Meanwhile, boil potatoes for the side dish. Cook in salted boiling water for about 25 minutes until tender. Then drain the water. Add butter and milk.
Step 5
Mash the potatoes until smooth.
Step 6
Heat a little vegetable oil in a hot skillet and add the chopped meat. Fry for a few minutes until it starts to brown.
Step 7
Then add the onion to the skillet. Mix and fry another 2-3 minutes until the onion releases its aroma.
Step 8
Grate the tomato, add a little tomato paste and water, and pour over the meat. Add salt and spices. Cover the skillet and simmer on low heat for 20-30 minutes until the meat is tender.
Step 9
Cooking time depends on the meat’s readiness. Adjust water according to desired gravy thickness. At the end, add crushed garlic, cover for 1 minute, then remove from heat. Let rest under the lid for 5 minutes. Serve the meat gravy with mashed potatoes hot. Enjoy!
