Easy
About 20 min.
Preparation
Step 1
Peel the potatoes and rinse them to remove any dirt.
Step 2
Slice the peeled potatoes into rounds about 1 cm (≈ 0.4 inch) thick. Don’t slice them too thinly - they should hold their shape during boiling.
Step 3
In a small pot, pour in cream mixed with water, place it on the stove, and bring it to a boil. Press the garlic directly into the pot. Add the sliced potatoes to the boiling cream and cook over low heat for 5-7 minutes.
Step 4
Separately, slice the onion into half-rings. Finely chop fresh dill. Grate the cheese.
Step 5
Use any ovenproof baking dish. Grease the bottom and sides with vegetable oil. Layer the potatoes from the cream, then sprinkle with dill and onion.
Step 6
Sprinkle a little cheese on top.
Step 7
Repeat all the layers again. Pour a little of the remaining cream over the top. Finish with a generous layer of cheese. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (about 355°F) for 20-30 minutes, depending on your oven. The potatoes will finish cooking quickly, and the top will turn a golden color.
Step 8
Remove the dish from the oven and serve hot. Enjoy your meal!
