Jellied Pie with Potatoes and Ground Meat

Preparation
Step 1
For the filling, you can use any type of ground meat. I will use pork mince. Choose cheese to your taste, but make sure it melts well in the oven. Peel the potatoes in advance and rinse them to remove any dirt.
Step 2
Peel the onion, rinse in cold water, and finely chop.
Step 3
Heat a skillet with a little vegetable oil and sauté the chopped onion for a couple of minutes until translucent.
Step 4
Add the ground meat to the skillet and mix with the onions. Sauté together for 3-5 minutes. It doesn’t need to be fully cooked. Add a little salt and spices to taste.
Step 5
Cut the peeled potatoes into small pieces and fry for 5-6 minutes until half-cooked.
Step 6
While the filling is cooking, prepare the pie batter. In a deep bowl, crack the eggs and lightly beat them with salt. Then add sour cream and mayonnaise. Mix well.
Step 7
Gradually add flour mixed with baking soda, stirring to make a batter. Adjust the amount of flour based on the batter consistency - it should be thick and lump-free.
Step 8
Grease a baking dish (9-9.5 inches / 22-24 cm) with vegetable oil and spread half of the batter on the bottom.
Step 9
Add a layer of fried potatoes over the batter.
Step 10
Add the ground meat on top, then pour the remaining batter over it.
Step 11
Sprinkle the top with grated cheese. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for 40 minutes. Adjust baking time to your oven.

The baked pie will rise slightly and turn golden brown, with the cheese lightly browned on top. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.

Cut the warm pie into pieces and serve. Enjoy your meal!
