Easy
About 10 min.
Preparation
Step 1
There’s no need to thaw the cabbage rolls beforehand. You can prepare them yourself and store in the freezer, or buy ready-made ones. I’ll be using store-bought.
Step 2
Peel and wash the onion and carrot. Finely chop the onion and grate the carrot on a coarse grater.
Step 3
In a deep skillet, add a little vegetable oil and sauté the chopped vegetables for 2-3 minutes.
Step 4
Add sour cream and a bit of tomato paste to the skillet. You can skip the tomato paste if you prefer a creamier taste, but I like adding a little for flavor.
Step 5
Pour in water and stir. Season with salt and spices to taste. Ground black pepper works well.
Step 6
Place the frozen cabbage rolls into the skillet and cover with a lid. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 25-30 minutes. Turn the cabbage rolls a couple of times during cooking.
Step 7
The cabbage rolls cooked in a skillet are ready! Transfer to a plate and serve as a main dish. Enjoy!
