Easy
About 30 min.
Preparation
Step 1
The ingredient proportions are approximate - feel free to adjust them. Peel the potatoes in advance and rinse off any dirt.
Step 2
Slice the peeled potatoes into rounds directly into a suitable baking dish. Drizzle with some vegetable oil. Sprinkle with salt and spices. I used dried basil and paprika. Mix everything right in the baking dish, then spread the potatoes evenly over the bottom.
Step 3
Sprinkle a little grated cheese over the potatoes. Adding cheese between layers helps bind everything together when baked, so the dish won’t fall apart when served.
Step 4
Cut the chicken fillet into small pieces and tenderize it with a kitchen mallet.
Step 5
Layer the tenderized chicken on top of the potatoes and spread a layer of mayonnaise over it.
Step 6
Peel and rinse the onion in cold water, then finely chop it. Distribute the chopped onion evenly over the chicken layer.
Step 7
Sprinkle more grated cheese over the onions.
Step 8
Wash the tomatoes and slice them into rounds, removing the stems. Spread the tomato slices evenly across the top.
Step 9
You can add a bit more cheese on top of the tomatoes, but not too much so the tomatoes remain visible. Place the dish in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) and bake for about 45-60 minutes. Adjust the time according to your oven.
Step 10
The dish will turn slightly golden on top. Some juice will form from the meat and vegetables and settle at the bottom of the dish. Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and serve. Enjoy!
