Fettuccine Pasta with Chicken and Mushrooms in Cream Sauce
Insanely tasty, very quick and easy - a family dinner! You’ll make fettuccine with chicken and mushrooms in a cream sauce in about 30-40 minutes. It’s a light, delicious dish for any time of day, and it’s especially good served hot, right after cooking.

Step 1
How to make pasta with chicken and mushrooms in a cream sauce? Prepare all the ingredients. Cook the pasta according to the package directions. You can use any mushrooms. I used thawed wild mushrooms that I had picked, boiled, and frozen during mushroom season.
Step 2
Heat a skillet until hot and add a little vegetable oil. Cut the chicken into small pieces and place it in the hot skillet. Fry for about 5-7 minutes until the meat turns lightly golden.
Step 3
While the chicken is frying, peel the onion, rinse it under running water, and finely chop it. Add the onion to the skillet with the chicken. Stir and fry everything together for another 2-3 minutes.
Step 4
Add the thawed mushrooms to the skillet. Fry together for 2-3 minutes. Then cover with a lid, reduce the heat, and cook for about 10 minutes more. Stir occasionally and make sure nothing burns. If all the mushroom moisture evaporates too quickly, add just a couple tablespoons of water.
Step 5
In a separate bowl, combine cold water and starch and stir until smooth with no lumps. Why add starch? It helps thicken the sauce slightly so it coats the pasta nicely and makes the dish extra tender. Peel and mince the garlic. When the chicken and mushrooms are ready, add the starch mixture, the cream, and the minced garlic to the skillet.
Step 6
Season with a little salt and spices to taste. Stir and bring to a boil. As it heats, the sauce will thicken a bit.
Step 7
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet. Stir and warm everything together for another 2-3 minutes so all ingredients are the same temperature.
Step 8
Divide the finished dish among plates and serve hot. Enjoy!
