Preparation
Step 1
How do you bake thighs in a roasting bag? Prepare all the ingredients. You can use bone-in or boneless thighs. If you want a less calorie-dense dish, remove the skin - but then don’t expect a deeply browned, crispy crust. If you like spicier food, replace Dijon mustard with a hotter mustard to taste. Check whether your ready-made chicken seasoning already contains salt.
Step 2
Rinse the chicken under running water and let the excess water drain. Transfer the thighs to a deep bowl, add mayonnaise and mustard, then season with salt and pepper to taste.
Step 3
Add the chicken seasoning and the garlic, finely grated. Mix the chicken with the marinade, cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap, and leave the thighs to marinate for about 30 minutes at room temperature.
Step 4
After that, transfer the chicken to a roasting bag and tightly secure both ends. Some kits include special ties; if not, tie tight knots. Make a few small cuts on the top of the bag so steam can escape and the bag won’t burst. Bake for 30 minutes in an oven preheated to 180°C (356°F). Adjust the exact time to your oven.
Step 5
5-10 minutes before it’s done, cut open the bag. Be careful not to get burned by the steam. Then place the chicken under the broiler/grill (if you have one) for about 5 minutes to brown it. If your oven doesn’t have a grill function, skip this step and simply let the chicken brown for about 10 more minutes.
Step 6
Chicken thighs in this popular mayonnaise-and-mustard sauce turn out juicy and tender inside, with an appetizing garlicky aroma.
