Chicken in Cream Sauce in the Oven

Preparation
Step 1
How do you bake chicken in cream sauce in the oven? Prepare the ingredients. Any parts of the chicken will work for baking in the oven. I will be using chicken thighs. But you can use drumsticks, breast, or chicken fillet. Or you can cut a whole chicken into pieces and bake it. The cream can be of any fat content, mine is 22%.
Step 2
Rinse the chicken and dry it well with paper towels. That way it will fry rather than steam. Heat a frying pan until hot and add a little vegetable oil. Place the chicken thighs into the hot pan and fry them over high heat until golden brown, about a couple of minutes on each side.
Step 3
Place the browned chicken thighs into a deep baking dish. It is not necessary to grease the dish, because the fat from the chicken will be enough. In general, you can skip the frying step, but in my opinion the finished dish looks more golden and appetizing this way.
Step 4
Prepare the cream sauce. How do you make the sauce? Wash the dill, or another herb, dry it, and chop it finely. Peel the garlic and chop it finely with a knife or crush it with a garlic press.
Step 5
For the sauce, heat a dry frying pan over medium heat until hot and toast the flour in it for 1 minute, until it gives off a characteristic nutty aroma. Stir it constantly so the flour does not burn.
Step 6
While stirring constantly, pour the cream into the pan with the flour. Mix the sauce well so there are no lumps. Then add the chopped garlic and dill. Add a little salt and spices to taste. For seasoning, you can use ground pepper and paprika. Stir and, while stirring constantly, bring the sauce to a boil. As it heats, the sauce will thicken slightly.
Step 7
Pour the finished cream sauce over the chicken thighs in the dish. Place the dish with the chicken into an oven preheated to 190°C (375°F) for 45-50 minutes, adjusting for your oven. The finished thighs will become golden and nicely browned.
Step 8
Arrange the finished dish on prepared plates and serve hot. You can complement this chicken with any side dish and fresh vegetables. Enjoy your meal!
