Preparation
Step 1
Prepare the ingredients. You can use ground meat from any type of meat. Rinse the prunes beforehand in hot water.
Step 2
Peel the onion and carrot. Chop the onion, and cut the carrot into small cubes or grate it.
Step 3
Cut the rinsed prunes into pieces.
Step 4
Heat a frying pan and add a little vegetable oil. Add the onion and carrot and cook for 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onion starts to turn translucent.
Step 5
Add the chopped prunes to the pan, stir and cook with the vegetables for another 2–3 minutes.
Step 6
Add the ground meat and cook over high heat, breaking it up as it cooks, until it changes color throughout.
Step 7
Season with salt and spices to taste. Ground black pepper and paprika work well.
Step 8
Add the bulgur and pour in hot water. Stir, cover and cook over low heat for about 15 minutes, until the bulgur is tender, the ground meat is fully cooked and the liquid has been absorbed.
Step 9
Stir the bulgur with ground meat, divide between plates and serve.
