Step 1
How do you make brown rice pilaf with chicken? Prepare all the necessary ingredients for the pilaf. You can use any parts of the chicken. I will be cooking with chicken fillet. Peel the onion, garlic, and carrot, then rinse them under running water.
Step 2
Cut the chicken into small pieces of roughly equal size.
Step 3
Pour a little vegetable oil into a frying pan and heat it until hot. Add the chopped chicken. Fry it over high heat until a golden crust appears. Do not forget to stir it from time to time so the meat does not burn.
Step 4
Pour a little vegetable oil into a frying pan and heat it until hot. Add the chopped chicken. Fry it over high heat until a golden crust appears. Do not forget to stir it from time to time so the meat does not burn.
Step 5
Add the chopped vegetables to the pan with the meat. Mix everything together. Fry everything for another 2-3 minutes.
Step 6
Rinse the brown rice once or twice. This type of rice is much cleaner than white rice, so rinsing it 1-2 times is enough.
Step 7
Add the rinsed rice to the pan with the meat. Pour in hot water so that it almost covers all the ingredients. Add a little salt and spices to taste. Add the garlic. Why hot water? When you add hot water, there is no sudden temperature change, which can negatively affect the cooking of the meat. Also, the rice starts cooking immediately without wasting time heating the water. As a result, the cooking time is a little shorter.
Step 8
For seasoning, you can use a ready-made pilaf spice blend. Cook the pilaf under a lid over low heat for 30-40 minutes. During this time, the rice will absorb all the liquid and become much softer.
Step 9
Arrange the finished pilaf on prepared plates and serve it hot. Before serving, you can sprinkle it with a little chopped fresh herbs. Enjoy your meal!
