About 30 min.
Preparation
Step 1
Choose boneless pork. It can include a little fat for better flavor.
Step 2
Rinse the pork under running water and pat it dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture. Cut the meat into evenly sized pieces.
Step 3
Heat a frying pan until hot and add a bit of vegetable oil. Add the meat pieces and fry on high heat for 7-10 minutes until lightly browned.
Step 4
Add a little hot water to the pan, cover with a lid, reduce the heat, and simmer the pork for about 1 hour until very tender. Add more water as needed and make sure it doesn’t burn.
Step 5
While the meat is cooking, prepare the vegetables. Peel the onion and carrot, rinse them. Slice the onion into half rings, and the carrot into rounds or sticks.
Step 6
Fry the vegetables separately. Heat some oil in a pan and sauté the onion and carrot for 3–5 minutes until they soften.
Step 7
Add the sautéed onion and carrot to the meat. Also add the rinsed prunes. Stir everything together. Season with salt and spices to taste. Add a few garlic cloves. Simmer everything together for another 3-5 minutes.
Step 8
Braised pork with prunes is ready! Remove from heat and serve. You can serve it with any side dish. Enjoy!
