Advice
You can replace beef with any other type of meat you prefer. Just keep in mind that cooking time, flavor, and calorie content will vary. Pork and lamb are generally fattier than beef, while chicken breast or turkey are leaner.
Preparation
Step 1
You can use any kind of meat for this recipe. I’ll be using beef. Choose boneless cuts. Peel and rinse the potatoes in advance.
Step 2
Peel the onion and rinse it in cold water. Chop it into medium-sized pieces.
Step 3
Turn on the multicooker to the “Fry” mode and heat the bowl until hot. Add a bit of vegetable oil. Add the chopped onion and fry for 1 minute until translucent. Peel and cut the carrot into half-moons or sticks (or grate it). Add to the bowl and cook with the onion for another 3-4 minutes.
Step 4
While the vegetables are frying, cut the beef into medium-sized chunks.
Step 5
Add the beef pieces to the bowl. Sauté for another 3-4 minutes until the meat changes color.
Step 6
Cut the peeled potatoes into large chunks.
Step 7
Add the potatoes to the multicooker. Pour in hot water mixed with tomato paste. Season with salt and spices to taste. I usually add ground pepper and dried herbs. Stir everything well.
Step 8
Spread chopped bell pepper over the top. Close the lid and set the multicooker to “Stew” mode for 1 to 1.5 hours. Slow simmering will make the meat and vegetables tender and aromatic. Serve the finished stew hot. Enjoy your meal!
