Easy
About 20 min.
Preparation
Step 1
For frying, choose boneless, young beef without tendons.
Step 2
Cut the beef into thin strips about 1.5-2 cm (½-¾ inch) thick. To make slicing easier, you can slightly freeze the meat beforehand.
Step 3
Peel the onion, rinse it in cold water, and finely chop it.
Step 4
Pour a bit of vegetable oil into a hot skillet and add the sliced beef. The meat will release a lot of juice while frying. Continue cooking until all the liquid evaporates.
Step 5
Add the chopped onion to the skillet, stir with the meat, and fry together for 2-3 minutes.
Step 6
Then pour some hot water into the skillet. Add tomato paste, a bay leaf, salt, and spices. Cover with a lid and simmer for about 40 minutes. The cooking time depends on the meat - taste it; it should be tender.
Step 7
In a separate glass, mix some flour with a small amount of cold water.
Step 8
Pour the flour mixture into the skillet, stir well, and bring it to a boil again. Add more water if you want extra gravy.
Step 9
Heat the beef with the gravy for 1-2 minutes, then remove from the stove. Serve with any side dish - grains, vegetables, or pasta. Enjoy your meal!
