Baked Turkey Thigh in Foil (in the Oven)
Juicy, appetizing meat with almost no effort or fuss. Baked turkey thigh in foil is great both for a festive table and for a Sunday family lunch. A fragrant soy marinade with unusual lime notes gives the poultry a unique flavor. You’ll want to cook this dish more often.

Preparation
Step 1
How to make baked turkey thigh in foil in the oven? Prepare all the ingredients. Instead of the thigh you can use another part of the turkey if you prefer, but keep in mind that the cooking time and calories will change. Lime juice can be replaced with lemon or orange juice.
Step 2
In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, vegetable oil, freshly squeezed lime juice and liquid honey. Beat everything thoroughly with a fork until smooth. If your honey has crystallized, melt it beforehand in the microwave or over a water bath.
Step 3
Rinse the turkey thigh and pat it dry. Sprinkle it with poultry seasoning, salt and pepper, rubbing them into the meat. Since soy sauce is quite salty, reduce the overall amount of salt so you don’t over-salt the dish.
Step 4
Pour the marinade over the meat. Put the turkey in the refrigerator to marinate for 2-3 hours or overnight, turning the meat from time to time so it marinates evenly. If you are very short on time, 1 hour of marinating at room temperature will be enough. About 30 minutes before cooking, preheat the oven to 180 °C (about 350-355 °F).
Step 5
Transfer the turkey to a baking dish. Pour in the marinade or part of it. While baking, the marinade will thicken slightly and can be used as a sauce.
Step 6
Cover the dish with foil. Try to arrange the foil so it does not touch the skin, so the crust doesn’t stick to it later. Bake the turkey in the preheated 180 °C (about 350–355 °F) oven for about 1 hour or a bit longer, until done. The exact time depends on your oven.
Step 7
Then remove the foil and return the turkey to the oven for another 30 minutes, until a golden crust forms, occasionally basting the meat with the juices from the bottom of the dish. The meat should be well cooked everywhere, especially near the bone. If you pierce it with a knife, the juices should run clear.
Step 8
Transfer the turkey thigh to a serving dish and serve with any side dish you like. I served it with fried potatoes. Enjoy!
