Easy
About 30 min.
Preparation
Step 1
You can use a whole fish and fillet it yourself, or buy ready-to-cook boneless fillets. Peel the potatoes and rinse them well.
Step 2
If the fish is frozen, take it out of the freezer ahead of time and let it thaw at room temperature. Pat it dry with a paper towel and cut into medium-sized pieces.
Step 3
Place the potatoes in a pot of water, bring to a boil, and cook for 5-7 minutes until half-cooked.
Step 4
Slice the potatoes into 0.6-0.8 inch (1.5-2 cm) thick rounds.
Step 5
Take an ovenproof baking dish and grease it with vegetable oil (ceramic dishes work great). Arrange alternating layers of fish and potato slices. Sprinkle with salt and spices to taste.
Step 6
Peel and slice the onion, then spread it evenly over the fish and potatoes.
Step 7
In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise with mustard and a bit of water. Pour this sauce evenly over the dish. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 30-35 minutes, adjusting for your oven.
Step 8
Remove the dish from the oven, sprinkle with grated cheese, and return it for another 5 minutes until the cheese melts and turns golden.
Step 9
Your baked pike perch with potatoes is ready! Serve hot on plates and enjoy your meal.
