Preparation
Step 1
Use firm but juicy tomatoes. Soft tomatoes will fall apart when sliced and ruin the salad’s look. For the onion, you can use regular or red. I chose red - it looks prettier in this kind of salad.

Peel the avocado, cut it in half, and remove the pit. Dice the avocado into small cubes.
Step 3
Place the diced avocado into a bowl and drizzle it with lemon juice. This is necessary to prevent the avocado from turning brown.
Step 4
Wash the tomatoes, cut them in half, and remove the stem. Then cut the tomatoes into large wedges. Transfer them to the bowl with the avocado.
Step 5
Peel the onion and slice it into thin half-rings. Then pour boiling water over the onion to remove the bitterness. Drain off excess water using a strainer.
Step 6
Add the prepared onion into the bowl with the salad.
Step 7
Drizzle all ingredients with olive oil. Add salt and spices to taste. I use a bit of ground pepper and dried basil. Mix everything together. Transfer the salad to a serving dish and chill slightly before serving. Enjoy your meal!
