Zucchini for Baby’s First Solid Food

Simple, quick, and natural. Perfect for little gourmets! Zucchini is the best choice for a baby's first food because it is highly hypoallergenic. It’s best to make it yourself to ensure the quality and purity of the puree.

About 10 min.
Preparation
Step 1
Wash the vegetable. If you are just starting solid foods, use a small amount (around 30-50 grams) to avoid waste. It's best to give the puree in the morning so you can monitor the baby’s reaction throughout the day. If any signs of allergy (rash, etc.) appear, postpone introducing this food.
Step 2
Wash the zucchini, peel it, and cut it into 1 cm thick slices. Small seeds do not need to be removed as they blend well, but large ones should be taken out.
Step 3
You can cook the zucchini using different methods: in a multicooker, steamer, boiling in a pot, or by placing a metal colander over a pot for steaming. I used a steaming pot. Pour some water into the pot, place the steamer on top, and put the zucchini inside. Cover with a lid and steam until soft. If a fork easily pierces the zucchini, it is ready. This took 25 minutes for me.
Step 4
Once the zucchini has cooled slightly, transfer it to a bowl and puree it using a blender. Alternatively, mash it with a fork or push it through a sieve. Do not add salt, as this is just the beginning of solid food introduction.
Step 5
The steamed zucchini puree for babies is ready! Feed your little one and enjoy this new milestone!
