Easy
About 30 min.
Preparation
Step 1
First, prepare all the necessary ingredients. For this recipe, store-bought yeast-free puff pastry sheets were used, but rolled puff pastry works too. If desired, you can use yeast-based or homemade puff pastry.
Step 2
Defrost the puff pastry in the refrigerator, then roll it out on a lightly floured surface into a moderately thick sheet.
Step 3
Evenly sprinkle the dough first with ground cinnamon, then with sugar, leaving a small border around the edges.
Step 4
Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into slices about 3-4 cm (1.2-1.6 inches) thick using a sharp knife. If using two separate sheets of pastry, as I did, you can stack the second sheet on top of the first before rolling, ensuring the rolls are not too small.
Step 5
Pinch one edge of the dough to prevent the sugar from leaking out during baking.
Step 6
On the opposite side, gently spread the layers to create a rose-like shape.
Step 7
Arrange the rolls on a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving some space between them. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for about 15 minutes until golden brown. Baking time may vary depending on your oven.
Step 8
Transfer the beautiful, crispy, homemade yeast-free puff pastry rolls to a plate and serve immediately. Enjoy!
