Easy
More than 1 hour.
Preparation
Step 1
Sift the flour in advance through a sieve to enrich it with oxygen. For the filling, use any jam, but make sure it’s thick so it doesn’t leak out during baking.
Step 2
To prepare the yeast dough, take a large deep bowl. Add salt, sugar, and dry yeast.
Step 3
Pour in warm milk and mix.
Step 4
Add a little flour to make the mixture slightly thick. Stir, cover with a towel, and leave in a warm place for 15-30 minutes.
Step 5
The yeast will activate, and the starter will begin to ferment. Stir it again.
Step 6
Crack in the eggs and add melted butter. Mix again.
Step 7
Gradually add the sifted flour into the bowl and knead the dough. Focus on the dough’s consistency.
Step 8
The yeast dough should be soft and elastic. To prevent it from absorbing too much flour, grease your hands with vegetable oil at the end and knead by hand. Leave the dough covered with a towel in a warm place for 1 hour to rise.
Step 9
The dough will rise well and quickly in warmth. Punch it down. Repeat the process once more.
Step 10
Cut the dough into small pieces for the pies. Shape each piece into a flat round, place a little thick jam inside, pinch the edges together, and form a pie.
Step 11
Place the prepared pies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Let them rest for 10-15 minutes. Then brush with egg yolk and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for 20-25 minutes.
Step 12
The ready pies will turn a delicious golden color. Remove from the oven, cool slightly, and enjoy.
Step 13
Bon appétit!
