Easy
More than 1 hour.
Preparation
Step 1
It’s better to use fresh fish rather than frozen, as it will affect the taste of the final dish. Instead of bell pepper, you can use carrots or zucchini, and for the marinade you can choose your favorite spices.
Step 2
Clean the fish and rinse it thoroughly. Place a bunch of dill and lemon wedges inside the belly. The lemon and herbs help remove any unwanted fishy smell.
Step 3
Mix salt, pepper, and mayonnaise and coat the carp all over with this marinade. Leave the fish to marinate for some time, at least 2 hours, or ideally overnight.
Step 4
Peel the vegetables and rinse well under running water.
Step 5
Slice the potatoes into rings and sprinkle them with salt.
Step 6
Cut the onion into half-rings.
Step 7
Slice the bell pepper into medium strips.
Step 8
Spread the chopped vegetables onto a baking tray greased with vegetable oil or lined with foil, and place the marinated carp on top.
Step 9
Cover the baking tray with foil and put it into a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for about 30-40 minutes.
Step 10
After that time, remove the foil and leave the fish and vegetables to bake until a golden crust forms, which will take about another 10-15 minutes.
Step 11
The carp baked with potatoes is ready. Remove the lemon wedges and dill from inside the fish and serve on a platter garnished with herbs. It will be even tastier if you drizzle lemon juice over the sliced fish pieces. Enjoy your meal!
