Note that cooking time and settings are approximate. All multicookers function differently, and even identical models may behave uniquely.
Preparation
Step 1
First, prepare the necessary ingredients according to the list.
Step 2
Sort the wheat groats and rinse thoroughly until the water runs clear. You can cook the porridge using either water or milk.
Step 3
Place the rinsed groats into the multicooker bowl. Add salt. Optional: Add herbs like Provencal or Italian seasoning. For a sweet version, add 1-2 tablespoons of sugar.
Step 4
Pour cold drinking water into the bowl. You can adjust the consistency by changing the water-to-grain ratio. For fluffy porridge, use the recommended ratio (usually about 1:2). For softer porridge, increase to 1:3 or 1:4.
Step 5
Close the lid. Turn on the multicooker. Select the "Porridge" or "Grain" mode and set the time to 40 minutes. Note: Mode names vary by brand/model. If foam starts escaping, open the lid briefly to let it settle. You may also reduce the cooking temperature slightly.
Step 6
When the timer goes off, check if excess liquid remains. Then stir in a knob of butter and mix well.
Step 7
Let the porridge sit for 5–10 minutes in the "Keep Warm" mode. If there's any remaining moisture, it will absorb into the grains. Then switch off the multicooker.
Step 8
Spoon the finished wheat porridge into bowls and serve. Enjoy!
