Easy
About 20 min.
Preparation
Step 1
Take the eggs, milk, and butter out of the fridge in advance so they reach room temperature. This makes the waffle batter softer. You can use a multi-baker, electric waffle maker, or even a stovetop waffle iron.
Step 2
Crack the eggs and separate the whites from the yolks. Set the whites aside, and beat the yolks with sugar in a deep bowl.
Step 3
After beating, the yolk mixture should be fluffy and pale.
Step 4
Add softened butter to the bowl and beat until smooth.
Step 5
Pour in the milk and add vanilla sugar, beating everything well.
Step 6
Sift flour with baking powder into the bowl. Sifting is important to aerate the flour so the waffles become light and rise well during baking.
Step 7
The batter should be thick in consistency.
Step 8
In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff white peaks form.
Step 9
Fold the beaten egg whites into the batter.
Step 10
Gently mix the batter with a spatula from top to bottom until it looks like thick yogurt.
Step 11
Preheat the multi-baker and lightly brush the surface with vegetable oil. Spoon the batter onto the plates - I used about 1.5 tablespoons per waffle.
Step 12
Bake the waffles for about 7-10 minutes. After baking, cover them with a towel so they stay soft.
Step 13
Serve the finished waffles with honey, condensed milk, berries, or fruit. Enjoy your tea time!
