Preparation
Step 1
How to make vermicelli with egg? Prepare the ingredients. Pay special attention to the vermicelli: choose good-quality pasta made from durum wheat so it holds its shape when cooked. Use refined, neutral vegetable oil. You may need a bit more water - add it as you cook.
Step 2
Heat a skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon vegetable oil. Add the vermicelli. Fry for a few minutes, stirring constantly. Don’t walk away - vermicelli can burn. It will start browning fairly quickly.
Step 3
As soon as the vermicelli turns brown, pour hot water into the skillet - hot so the pasta starts cooking right away. Salt to taste. If the dish isn’t for children, you can add pepper. Reduce the heat to low. Stay close - the water will evaporate quickly. If the vermicelli is still firm, add a little more boiling water.
Step 4
When the vermicelli is tender and all the water has been absorbed, pour the egg into the skillet. Beat it with a fork first so the yolk and white are combined.
Step 5
Stir actively until the egg sets - this takes about a minute. Turn off the heat and serve immediately.
Step 6
Enjoy your meal!
