Preparation
Step 1
How do you make vanilla cake? Prepare the ingredients. Take all the ingredients out of the refrigerator in advance so they can come to room temperature. Sift the flour beforehand. Milk of any fat content will work. Use the best quality butter, without vegetable additives. Instead of vanilla extract, you can use a pinch of vanilla powder or 1 teaspoon of vanilla sugar. Instead of one large cake, I will bake small cakes.
Step 2
Take a deep bowl for the batter. You can use either a whisk or a mixer for mixing. I use a whisk. Put the room-temperature butter and sugar into the bowl. Mix everything until you get a fluffy, smooth mass.
Step 3
Break the eggs one at a time into a separate bowl to check that they are fresh. Then add the eggs, salt, and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and whisk everything lightly.
Step 4
Add the sifted wheat flour mixed with the baking powder in portions, and mix everything thoroughly until the ingredients are fully combined. It is important to sift the flour so it is enriched with air. Then the baked goods will turn out airy and rise well in the oven.
Step 5
Pour the milk into the batter and mix well. The batter is ready. Prepare a suitable baking pan. Any heat proof baking dish will work for this recipe. If you use a silicone mold, you do not need to grease it with butter or margarine. But metal, ceramic, or glass bakeware is better lightly greased with vegetable oil so the cake does not stick.
Step 6
Pour the batter into the chosen cake molds, filling them to 2/3 of their volume. You can use paper liners, in which case you do not need to grease the molds. Place the pan with the cakes into an oven preheated to 175°C (350°F) for 25–30 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick - it should come out completely dry from the center of the cake. If you are baking one large cake, increase the baking time.
Step 7
Remove the finished cakes from the oven and let them cool in the molds. Then take them out while still warm and place them on a serving dish. You can dust them with powdered sugar. Serve these cakes with freshly brewed tea or a glass of milk. Enjoy your meal!
