- teaspoon - 5 ml
- dessert spoon - 10 ml
- tablespoon - 20 ml
- glass - 200 ml
Preparation
Step 1
Prepare the ingredients. What turkey cuts work best? Use either lean breast fillet or juicier thigh meat. Any vegetable oil will work (I used sunflower). Feel free to use any spices you like. I used 2 small garlic cloves. Any fat content sour cream is fine – I used 20%.
Step 2
Rinse the turkey fillet, pat it dry, and cut into small pieces. You can also use chicken, beef, lamb, or pork – just keep in mind it will change the cooking time and calories.
Step 3
Peel the potatoes and cut them into medium-sized cubes.
Step 4
Peel and dice the carrot into small cubes.
Step 5
Peel the onion and finely chop it. If you or your kids don’t like onions, feel free to leave them out.
Step 6
Wash the dill, shake off excess water, and finely chop. You can replace or mix with other greens like parsley, cilantro, scallions, or a herb blend.
Step 7
In a bowl, combine sour cream, pressed garlic, and chopped dill. Add salt and mix. Optionally, add a pinch of ground coriander.
Step 8
Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet over high heat. Add turkey and fry, stirring, for 5–7 minutes until golden brown. Cooking time depends on your stove and preferences.
Step 9
Add onions and carrots to the skillet. Cook everything together for about 5 more minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 10
Add the potatoes and spices. Stir to combine.
Step 11
Reduce heat to low. Pour in hot water and then add the sour cream sauce. Stir everything together and bring to a boil.
Step 12
Cover with a lid and simmer on low heat for 20–25 minutes, or until the potatoes are fully cooked.
Step 13
Sprinkle the finished dish with fresh herbs and serve hot. Enjoy!
