Easy
About 20 min.
Preparation
Step 1
If the liver is frozen, thaw it in advance on the lower shelf of the refrigerator. Use neutral vegetable oil without a strong smell.
Step 2
Wash the peeled onion and cut it into half rings.
Step 3
Add vegetable oil to a skillet. Fry the onion over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until golden.
Step 4
Wash the liver, pat it dry well. Remove fat particles and membranes. Cut the liver into pieces of the desired size. If you wish, lightly coat the liver pieces in flour.
Step 5
Add the liver to the skillet with the onions.
Step 6
Fry the liver over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the color changes to lighter and more uniform. The inside should remain slightly pink. Do not cook too long, otherwise the liver will lose tenderness.
Step 7
At the end of cooking, season with salt and any spices of your choice. If you use spice blends, check the label as many already contain salt. Mix well. Add a little hot water (about 2 tbsp).
Step 8
Cover the skillet with a lid and simmer the liver over low heat for about 4-5 minutes.
Step 9
Serve turkey liver with onions alongside any side dish. Enjoy!
