Ingredients
Preparation
Step 1
Use boneless turkey meat - breast or thigh fillet works well. You can use any vegetable oil; sunflower oil is ideal.
Step 2
Rinse the turkey fillet, pat dry, and cut into medium-sized pieces. If using a thigh with skin and bone, remove both first.
Step 3
Season the meat with paprika, salt, and pepper. You can also add other spices to your taste - a special poultry or turkey seasoning mix works well (if it already contains salt or pepper, adjust accordingly).
Step 4
Mix everything thoroughly and let the turkey marinate for 30-40 minutes.
Step 5
Peel ripe tomatoes by making shallow cross-shaped cuts and dipping them in boiling water for 1-2 minutes. Remove the skins easily afterward, then chop the flesh finely or grate the tomatoes.
Step 6
Peel and finely dice the onion. If you or your children don’t like onion, you can skip it.
Step 7
Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a skillet over high heat. Add the turkey pieces and fry for about 5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Transfer the turkey to a plate.
Step 8
In the same skillet, add the remaining oil and heat over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
Step 9
Add the chopped tomatoes to the onion. You can also use canned chopped tomatoes in their own juice instead of fresh ones.
Step 10
Stir in the tomato paste and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. (You can substitute tomato paste with ketchup if desired.)
Step 11
Pour in water and bring the tomato sauce to a boil.
Step 12
Return the fried turkey pieces to the skillet and mix well with the sauce.
Step 13
Cover and simmer over low heat for 10-12 minutes. Sprinkle with fresh herbs before serving. Enjoy your meal!
