Preparation
Step 1
From this set, we will prepare two types of appetizers that look similar but taste completely different. To distinguish them at the table, use red and yellow tomatoes. It’s best to take plum tomatoes - meaty and firm. Wash tomatoes and herbs, then pat dry.
Step 2
Put the cottage cheese in a bowl and mix until smooth. For more elasticity, add one tablespoon of sour cream. Divide the cheese evenly into two parts. Peel and mince garlic, then add to each part of the cheese.
Step 3
Remove the tough part of the basil stems and chop finely. If desired, you can blend them into a puree, but we prefer when basil fully reveals its flavor while eating. Add salt and mix.
Step 4
To the other part of the cottage cheese, add finely chopped dill and green onions. Salt and mix until herbs are evenly distributed.
Step 5
Cut the tomato stems off and slice the tomatoes crosswise into 1-1.5 cm thick rounds. Decorate a serving plate with dill and basil leaves, and lay out the tomato slices in any order you like.
Step 6
Spread the cheese mixtures on the tomato slices. Put the dill and green onion cheese on the red slices, and the basil cheese on the yellow slices. You can use a regular teaspoon or a piping bag with a star nozzle for a quick and pretty result. Garnish with basil and dill leaves and serve immediately.
Step 7
Enjoy your meal!
