Thousand Island Sauce

The best addition to any dish – a true harmony of flavors! Thousand Island Sauce is a favorite mix of tomato sauce and mayonnaise. It also includes finely chopped onions, garlic, pickles, olives, or capers. This sauce is perfect for salads, burgers, or shawarma.

Preparation
Step 1
The key to a great sauce is the quality of mayonnaise and ketchup. Choose high-quality ingredients and don’t skimp on them. You can replace capers with pickles or olives. Add chili sauce to taste.

Peel and halve the onion. Finely chop one half – the smaller, the better. Red onion is recommended for its sweet and mild flavor, but you can use regular onion if preferred.
Step 3
Finely chop the capers. Do the same with pickles or olives if you’re using them.
Step 4
In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, and chili sauce (optional if you prefer a milder taste). Peel and press a garlic clove into the mixture. Adjust the garlic amount to your liking. Add the chopped onions and capers.
Step 5
Mix all ingredients well. The sauce is now ready! You can also add finely grated boiled egg for a traditional version, but for salads, it’s often better without it.

Use the sauce for dressing vegetable salads, burgers, or shawarma. Enjoy your meal!
