Preparation
Step 1
Prepare the ingredients. You can use any tartlets: large, medium, or small. Depending on their size, the number of servings will vary, so keep that in mind when planning your menu. I used medium tartlets, and the filling was enough for 10 pieces. Before buying tartlets, check what they are intended for, because some dessert tartlet shells contain sugar and will not work here.
Step 2
Hard-boil the eggs. Cool the cooked eggs in cold water, then chop them finely. You can also grate them, in which case the filling will be more uniform. I wanted a more noticeable salad texture, so I cut both the eggs and the crab sticks into cubes.
Step 3
Grate the cheese on a coarse or medium grater. Choose a tasty, natural cheese without vegetable fats in the ingredients. Both hard and semi-hard cheeses will work.
Step 4
Cut the crab sticks into small cubes. The more finely they are cut, the tastier the salad will be. Crab sticks strongly affect the flavor of the whole appetizer, since they are the main ingredient, so choose crab sticks that you already like on their own.
Step 5
Wash the dill, dry it, and chop it finely. In addition to dill, you can also use other herbs, such as parsley.
Step 6
In a bowl, combine the crab sticks, eggs, cheese, and chopped dill. Dress the filling with mayonnaise. You can use either store-bought or homemade mayonnaise. Place the finished filling in the refrigerator for 20 minutes. To keep it from drying out while chilling, cover the bowl with plastic wrap. If you like, you can add one clove of garlic pressed through a garlic press. Mix everything thoroughly.
Step 7
Fill the tartlets with the chilled crab salad. It is best to fill the tartlets just before serving, because even if they stand for about an hour, the top of the filling begins to dry out and does not look as appealing. If desired, decorate the finished tartlets with herbs and red caviar, then serve. Enjoy your meal!
