Summer Cabbage and Carrot Salad with Sausage

Preparation
Step 1
First, prepare all the necessary ingredients and spices for making this quick and filling vegetable salad with sausage.
Step 2
Place a skillet on the stove, add 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil, then add 1 large onion finely chopped. Stir and sauté over medium heat until golden.

Shred 400 g (about 14 oz) of fresh white cabbage into thin strips and place it into a large bowl.

Add salt to the cabbage and knead it with your hands until it softens.

Set the skillet with the sautéed golden onion aside to cool.

Grate 1 medium carrot on a coarse grater directly into the bowl with cabbage.

Rinse 200 g (about 7 oz or 1 cup) of green peas in a fine sieve and add them to the bowl.

Cut 150 g (about 5 oz) of boiled sausage into thin strips and place into the bowl.

Finely chop fresh dill to taste and add to the salad.

Add the cooled sautéed onion from the skillet to the bowl.

Season with ground black pepper to taste, then add 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise and mix everything thoroughly until combined.
