Preparation
Step 1
Prepare the ingredients. Use any canned fish you like; canned pink salmon works well. If preferred, replace the onion with one garlic clove.
Step 2
Hard-boil the eggs, then cool them in cold water.
Step 3
Peel the eggs, cut them in half and carefully separate the yolks from the whites.
Step 4
Peel the onion and chop it very finely, then lightly crush it with your fingers to soften its texture.
Step 5
Place the canned fish in a bowl, remove any large bones or pieces of backbone, and mash thoroughly with a fork.
Step 6
Finely chop the dill.
Step 7
Combine the egg yolks, canned fish, onion and dill in a bowl. Add the mayonnaise and ground black pepper.
Step 8
Mix thoroughly until fairly smooth, mashing the egg yolks with a fork. Taste and add salt if necessary.
Step 9
Spoon the filling into the egg white halves, forming a small mound on top of each one. Garnish with fresh herbs and serve.
