Preparation
Step 1
How to make squid, crab stick, and egg salad? Prepare all the ingredients. Any squid will do - cleaned or uncleaned. If frozen, defrost it in advance. Boil the eggs beforehand and let them cool. Choose tasty, good-quality crab sticks. Use any onion you like; I have red onion.
Step 2
Cook the squid. If it has not been cleaned, remove the insides. Don’t forget to take out the chitinous plate. Bring water to a boil in a saucepan and add salt. Lower the squid bodies into the boiling water. The thin skin covering them will immediately curl up. Boil the squid for exactly two minutes - if you cook it longer, it will become rubbery.
Step 3
Transfer the squid bodies to a bowl of cold water to stop the cooking process. When the squid has cooled, rinse it to wash off the remaining curled skin.
Step 4
Peel the onion and slice it into thin half rings.
Step 5
Rinse the onion slices under cold water so they won’t taste too sharp. Leave the onion in a sieve so the water can drain.
Step 6
Remove any film from the crab sticks. Cut them into large pieces.
Step 7
Coarsely chop the cooled, peeled eggs.
Step 8
Pat the squid bodies dry and cut them into thin strips.
Step 9
Put all the ingredients into a salad bowl. You can add salt to taste, just keep in mind that mayonnaise already contains salt.
Step 10
Dress the salad with mayonnaise and mix.
Step 11
Serve the salad. Enjoy!
