Preparation
Step 1
Adjust the amount of sugar to your taste; you can use less than stated in the recipe. Chili peppers can be red or green.
Step 2
Peel the garlic cloves and rinse them under running water.
Step 3
Wash the chili peppers thoroughly, remove the stems, and optionally, remove the seeds if you prefer a milder sauce.
Step 4
Place the peeled garlic and most of the chili peppers into a blender. Set aside one chili to add later for small chunks in the sauce.
Step 5
Blend until smooth.
Step 6
Add sugar, vinegar, and the remaining chili pepper to the mixture.
Step 7
Blend again until well combined.
Step 8
Pour the chili sauce into a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer on low, covered, for about 7–10 minutes until the "raw" smell disappears. Stir occasionally. Turn off the heat and let the sauce cool.
Step 9
Transfer the homemade spicy chili sauce into jars, seal them, and store in the refrigerator for long-term use. Add it to various dishes or serve with meat. Enjoy!
