Preparation
Step 1
How do you make sour cream garlic sauce? Very easily and quickly. Prepare all the necessary ingredients. First, rinse the dill under running water and dry it well with paper towels.
Step 2
Use sour cream with 20% fat content, or 15% at the very least, because if the sour cream is too thick, it will no longer be a sauce but something closer to a rich cream. If you use sour cream with 10% fat content, for example, the sauce will turn out too thin. If you try to decorate a dish with it, it will spread too much. On the other hand, a sauce that is too thick will not spread at all, which also will not look appealing on the plate.
Step 3
Peel the garlic and mince it with a knife, grate it on a fine grater, or press it through a garlic press, as I did. Add the chopped garlic to the bowl with the sour cream, add salt, and stir. Let the sauce already begin absorbing the aroma of the garlic. If you like a more pronounced garlic flavor, you can add more garlic. Two cloves will give a light garlic taste and aftertaste.
Step 4
Now remove all the stems from the dill, as they are tough and will spoil the sauce. Finely chop the dill. If you enjoy a stronger dill flavor, press the chopped dill several times with the flat side of a knife blade.
Step 5
Add the dill to the bowl with the sauce and mix everything well. The sauce is almost ready. To finish it completely, place it in the refrigerator for 10–15 minutes so the sour cream can absorb the flavor and aroma of the garlic and dill.
Step 6
What is the best way to serve sour cream garlic sauce? Serve it chilled. Before serving, transfer the sauce to a nice gravy boat, ramekin, or small bowl.
Step 7
This sour cream garlic sauce perfectly complements the flavor of any meat dish, and it is also excellent with potatoes. Enjoy your meal!
